Christmas Grotto

A present for you, a magical moment for them!

Santa and his elves are ready to help kids pick the perfect gift for their loved ones. What will be waiting under your tree this year?

WHAT TO EXPECT

Kids will have a chance to meet Santa and “shop” for gifts during their allotted slot in the Christmas Grotto. Each gift will be wrapped by one of our volunteer elves, ready to be placed under the tree!

The Christmas Grotto is open to Bousfield pupils only and each slot in the Grotto will take place during normal School hours. Adult volunteers on the day will help children pick and wrap the presents. Volunteer slots will be limited so keep an eye out for more details to follow.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Volunteer on the day and/or help sort donations during Bousfield’s first-ever Sorting Workshop Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 November. Volunteer signup links will be shares shortly.

Delve into your cupboards, relishing the joy of creating space and share the love by donating gently used and unused items, in great condition, suitable for:

• babies (such as soft toys),

• children (such as second-hand toys not broken, and complete sets),

• mums (fantasy jewellery, little bags…)

• dads (ties, pens, promotional goods).

PLEASE NO BIG ITEMS / NO CLOTHES - FOB does not take any big items like bikes (you can sell these on the Bousfield Marketplace and donate proceeds to FOB) or clothes (clean Children’s fancy dress outfits and women/ men scarves/ ties are the only exceptions).

PLEASE BE CONSCIOUS THAT THE ITEMS ARE APPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN TO GIFT: We don’t have the time or resources to bin unusable items.

All donations to be dropped at the BACK GATE in blue and red boxes by the shed. The office/reception will not accept any items. Items will be stored in our caretaker house until the Sorting Workshop weekend.

Year 6 Bake Sale

Year 6 Bake Sale

A new year, a new baking competition!

Year 6 will kick off this year’s bake sale competition! Will they roll out a record-breaking total or crumble under the pressure?

ALL PARENTS

Please stop by the Bake Sale and enjoy delicious goodies!

ALL YEAR 6 VOLUNTEERS

The Bake Sale needs around 6 people to volunteer on the day of the sale. For more information, or to take part, please reach out to your class representative directly.

If you’re baking, please bring your goodies the morning of the sale to the kitchen (in the extension) or in the afternoon directly to the tables outside.

On the day, an FoB Bake Sale representative will give you a set of supplies for the sale (napkins, plates, table cloths if you want to) and Adam (site manager) will set the tables out for you. There will also be 2 FoB representatives on the day with card readers to assist you with card payments, and you will get 2 money boxes with some cash free float to make change. We recommend you assign one person to be responsible for these.

BAKING GUIDELINES

  • GOLDEN RULE - NO NUTS OR SEEDS ALLOWED!

  • Your class will be setting prices but keep them accessible and fair. We suggest starting at £1 for biscuits or £2 for small individual cake portions and cupcakes.

  • Consider selling whole cakes, trays, bundles, assorted plates, etc. This will allow you to set higher prices and sell out faster. You can also consider selling drinks along with your baked goodies.

  • Do you want to suggest a theme, bring music, deco? Feel free to find ways to get more goodies to sell and more people buying them!

  • Include healthy options like fruits.

  • Allow kids to get involved - they can help you with baking, decorating and making signs for the day.
